The Impact of Civics 4 Kids

In 2024, The Mississauga Foundation proudly funded Safe City Mississauga’s “Civics 4 Kids” program — an initiative designed to teach children about civic engagement, community safety, and their role in building a better Mississauga.

Through interactive sessions, hands-on learning, and volunteer activities, the program empowered young participants to understand how their voices matter in shaping a safe and inclusive city.

But the impact went far beyond safety education — parents noticed a boost in their children’s confidence, communication skills, and sense of responsibility.

Volunteers and parents alike shared heartfelt stories about how the program inspired kids to become more socially aware and active in their communities. Their reflections reveal just how meaningful community-driven programs like Civics 4 Kids can be when supported by local philanthropy.
