Nurturing Future Stewards of Wildlife

Nurturing Future Stewards of Wildlife
Through the benevolent support of Mississauga Foundation, a meaningful impact has been realized by Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC). The Smart and Caring Children and Youth Fund facilitated initiatives that empowered Mississauga's youth, cultivating a heightened awareness of local wildlife and a sense of responsibility for its preservation.

This collaboration has proven mutually beneficial for the Mississauga community and Toronto Wildlife Centre. The grant enabled TWC to extend wildlife education to diverse groups such as Embers Mississauga and Girl Guide Units. Financial support from the foundation alleviated financial constraints, broadening the reach of these impactful programs across our community.
“It is always such a rewarding and moving experience to interact with children about wildlife. It’s an opportunity to change hearts and minds, and create long-lasting impact. These are the kids who will grow up and decide what kind of world we’ll have. They are so open to learning, and so curious!”
— Jill Finney, TWC Education Volunteer
“52 Embers Mississauga thoroughly enjoyed our workshop from TWC. So much so that we
recommended it to other local Girl Guide Units! The program was an informative and safe way for the girls to learn about living with wildlife in our community. The grant removed the financial burden on the unit allowing us to experience this fantastic program!”
—Leslie Leaver, Facilitator
