Strengthening Safety through Safe City Mississauga

The 2023 School Watch Program Delivery with a Smart and Caring Children’s grant, totaling $3,000, has had a significant impact on Safe City Mississauga. The grant facilitated the creation of program awareness materials, School Watch signage for classrooms, provision of food for School Watch sessions, and materials essential for a social media campaign. 

This comprehensive approach has expanded awareness of crime prevention and provided valuable safety tips to Mississauga's youth. The awareness materials and School Watch signage have played a crucial role in discouraging crime in schools, creating a safer environment for students. The grant has also supported community initiatives like Operation Clean Sweep, providing food to youth participants and snacks to those involved in Youth Life Skills.

The grant allowed us to spread awareness of the program with our posters, discourage crime in schools with our Watch signage, provide food to youth participating in our Operation Clean Sweep community clean-up initiatives, and snacks to youth in the community participating in Youth Life Skills.”
